Alexander Zbruev was born
The actor was born in a dramatic time for his family - his father, Deputy People's Commissar for Communications of the USSR was arrested few months prior to the birth of his son. And when he was just a month and a half old, his father was shot, and his wife with a baby was deported from Moscow to Rybinsk. To their native Arbat yard they returned only five years later. The future actor did not shine in studies, but was very keen on sport, even achieved ranking in gymnastics. A friend of Zbruev's mother, a widow of the legendary director Eugeny Vakhtangov, advised Alexander to enter Boris Shchukin Theatre Institute after finishing school. After his graduation, Zbruev was admitted to Lenkom Theatre, where he works to this day.
