Ekaterina Maximova died
On that day, the ballerina was expected at the theatre where she worked as a teacher for a rehearsal by 12 pm, but she has never come. She died in her sleep of heart failure, and in the morning her 94-year-old mother discovered it. For thirty years, Ekaterina Maximova was one of the leading soloists of the Bolshoi Theatre. She often performed for foreign companies, on the best world stages. Maximova and her husband, Vladimir Vasiliev, are recognized as one of the greatest ballet duos of the 20th century.
